Landmark judgement for Indian aviculture
The Honourable Calcutta High Court has passed a landmark judgement on 23/8/21, clarifying that lawful importation of exotic birds, their keeping, and intra and inter-state trade and transportation are permissible and are in accordance with our law.

Our Origin
Smt Shefali Banerjee and Shri Satyendra Nath Banerjee complemented each other in their capacities as aviculturists and worked together on their passion for decades. In 1997, Smt Shefali Banerjee handed over their entire collection to Sunshine BirdWorld. Shri Subrata Chakrabarti also gifted a large collection of birds from “The Abode of Birds” to Sunshine BirdWorld.

Our tribute to Shri Subrata Chakrabarti
Shri Subrata Chakrabarti, a flight purser with Air India, was an incredibly passionate aviculturist who devoted his entire life towards the cause of Indian aviculture. His relationship with Debashis, Anindita and Sunshine BirdWorld was special. Kaku will be missed by Sunshine BirdWorld. We will keep him alive forever through our work and in our hearts.
